Starting up an online only wholesale business that would grow to house 1 million sku’s, Modmart were looking for an efficient way to fill their digital shelves with products. The need was to get the large amount of data they would source from their suppliers through to their website in the right format as quickly as possible. In addition, they were resolute, given the large catalog, to provide an easy to use, seamless online shopping experience for their customers with easy search capabilities.
Modmart looked to Vesta for an automated solution to get the incoming suppliers data into a format where it was ready to load onto their @orocommerce site. Through the advanced technology of Vesta’s transformation engine, Modmart has been able to automatically assign products to categories, calculate pricing to meet supplier specifications, calculate measurements for length and height into a common format, and create attributes for color, pattern, shape & country or origin.
Modmart also needed a solution to keep their large catalog up to date. Vesta works with Modmart over time, automating the processing of all supplier catalog updates, identifying and adding new products, removing discontinued products, updating pricing and other product changes to flow through to the online store.
During the past 8 months Vesta has run 3,129,548 transformations for Modmart, saving them an estimated 26,000 hours or 13 years of one person continually working on manually manipulating the data in spreadsheets. Over the 8 months of working together this has saved Modmart an estimated $627,000 in labour costs. A saving that will continue to grow as we work together over time.

Across the hundreds of products ranges, colour descriptions provided in vendor data for blue vary wildly eg Sea blue, sea foam, aquamarine, turquoise, blue opal.
Vesta solves this problem, by setting up an automated transformation for all data coming in from suppliers, so, for example, ‘’seafoam’’ is recognized and transformed automatically through Vesta’s transformation engine, to Modmart's label - blue.
