Why
North Coast Sales were setting up a new website and experiencing the difficulties of manually adding product updates to their eCommerce site. North Coast Sales needed to extract thousands of products including images, pricing, and inventory from the Essendant databases. This time-consuming process was stretching their internal resources to the point of questioning if the online aspect of their business was viable to continue.
North Coast Sales saw Vesta recommended on the Essendant website and got in touch to overcome these challenges.
How
Through Vesta's full integration with Essendant, North Coast Sales was able to:
- Sync all products from Essendant databases to the Vesta retailer portal, where they can manage and enrich the data
- Sync pricing, inventory, and discontinued updates from Essendant’s ICAPS database to the Vesta retailer portal daily
Utilizing Vesta's logic-based transformation engine, and integration with Shopify, North Coast Sales was then able to:
- Add a price calculation to Essendant-provided price, to reach the selling price
- Combine the stock numbers from specified warehouses
- Sync product, price, and inventory data and updates through to their Shopify site daily
The Results
Working with Vesta, North Coast Sales have been able to extend their online catalog to sell online not only the products they have in stock in their warehouse, to choosing from the full Essendant range. The wider range has broadened their appeal and North Cost Sales has seen increased traffic to their website.
Dexter Vaughan from North Coast Sales estimates that automating the listing of the Essendant products to their website has replaced the workload of 2, skilled, full-time dedicated staff. This time saved, will be reallocated to move onto their next area of expansion, multichannel listings, including Amazon.
